Brought up with two parents practicing Eastern martial arts, and trained as an elite athlete myself (I was a professional dancer prior to my studies in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine), I am familiar with not only the rigours of intensive physical training, but also the importance of mental focus in physical activity, and the inseparable duality of body and mind. Eastern philosophy, the practices of mindfulness, breath work and meditation, now becoming popular and integrated into Western psychological practice, did of course originate as Eastern Medical traditions and have always been a fundamental part of all Eastern spiritual and physical practices. They are inseparable from Oriental Medicine and from the practice of Acupuncture.
Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture have been tools in my life to keep me centred in myself, grounded in my body and in touch with what gives my life meaning. These are the gifts and deep benefits of Chinese Medicine. My simple promise is to help you learn and discover ways you can support your wellbeing throughout your life.
I believe healing and change is always possible if you give your body and mind the resources and guidance it needs.
I offer a gentle and grounded, yet evidence based approach to the treatment of numerous disorders with Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. Due to the powerful and transformative nature of these treatments, you, as my patient, have my complete focus and attention during this time. Im passionate about assisting you to return to a place of true and deep wellness so you can move forward and heal in your life. Differing aspects, both within treatment and lifestyle advice, will be integrated and enhanced as your equilibrium returns.
My practice focuses on a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine techniques, such as Real Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Moxibustion, Remedial massage and Manual release techniques, Lifestyle and self care support, as well as specific Nutrition, supplementation and Functional Pathology interpretation. I take the time to listen to you and your story and to offer useful and appropriate techniques for you personally to recover and heal, rather than simply the latest fad which may or may not be the best choice for you personally.
Partially due to my previous career in Professional Dance, as well as my years of practice as a Remedial Massage Therapist and specific training in Acupuncture, I’m very confident with a great deal of experience treating musculoskeletal conditions of all kinds. Ive also had personal experience and recovery from chronic ill health myself – Im fully aware of the difficulties and challenges in recovery from a serious health condition.
Although like all Chinese Medicine Practitioners, I can essentially treat everything to some degree, some conditions I particularly specialise in treating are:
Complex and chronic pain conditions
Migraines and headaches
Mental health such as Anxiety and Depression
Skin and Digestive health conditions
I work with motivated, committed people who are genuinely interested in making a recovery from the health problems holding them back from living a happy and fulfilling life.
If you are:
Willing to make changes and participate in your healing journey.
Tired of pain and ill health and ready to commit to regular appointments.
Aware that improvement can take time, patience and hard work but know that recovery is possible
Honestly wanting to step forward into true and deep wellness
Looking for the opportunity to grow and heal
Then I am here and ready to guide you when you are.
I look forward to meeting and making the first steps to health recovery with you.
Yours warmly in health,
